Our Occupational Health and Safety Culture

With the goal of continuously improving occupational health and safety performance, we are working to establish a sustainable safety culture at KÜMAŞ. Therefore, we accept as our fundamental principle to make both the legally defined obligations and globally accepted OHS requirements part of our way of doing business. We take precautions related to facilities, equipment, methods, or working regimes that could cause work accidents and occupational diseases. Through our risk analyses, we identify necessary precautions before work accidents and occupational diseases occur. In this way, we strive to achieve our target of zero work accidents and occupational diseases.

To ensure a safe and healthy working environment in all our areas of activity:

  • In line with our "Zero Work Accidents and Occupational Diseases Goal"; we adopt the culture and awareness of Occupational Health and Safety. We act in accordance with our policy under the scope of Integrated Management Systems.

  • We use all personal protective equipment as required and warn those who do not use it.

We participate in training related to Occupational Health and Safety and effectively use the information we acquire. We train our employees and third parties physically present in our areas of activity on the work-related training and expected behaviors in emergency situations and repeat these trainings periodically.
 

  • We use safe designs in our facilities. With the participation of our employees, we always take a proactive approach to ensure a healthy and safe working environment.
     
  • We evaluate the health and safety risks we may encounter in our working areas sectorally, establish pioneering and exemplary facilities that provide the necessary protective measures, and work to guide the sector in terms of OHS. For this purpose, we ensure the use of appropriate technologies and safe equipment.
     
  • We comply with all legal regulations related to Occupational Health and Safety. We effectively follow the requirements that our company needs to meet in this area and take necessary precautions.
     
  • We are knowledgeable about emergency scenarios and act accordingly in case of an emergency.

  • We comply with all procedures related to Occupational Health and Safety.
     
  • We do not assign tasks to our colleagues that contradict Occupational Health and Safety procedures.
     
  • We effectively implement the reward and sanction system within the framework of our "Occupational Health Safety and Environmental Reward and Sanction Procedure."
